August 14, 2012 - Las Vegas Punk Legends The Gashers Release New Album - LAW IS NOT ORDER - On SquidHat Records
Las Vegas, NV, - SquidHat Records is proud to announce the release of Law Is Not Order, the debut album from The Gashers, featuring founding members of legendary Las Vegas punk band The Peccadilloes. A CD Release show is scheduled for August 10, 2012, at the world-famous Double Down Saloon in Las Vegas.
“The Peccadilloes were an important part of Las Vegas music history and to work with the original members on a new project is an indie label's dream come true.” said SquidHat Records President and founder, Allan Carter. “The Gashers faithfully honor that legacy and will expose a whole new generation to real punk rock.”
The Gashers are a 3-piece band from Nevada with deep roots in Vegas punk history, solid, dynamic chops, and a message that is perfect for their medium. Jason (guitar & vocals), Sandy (drums & vocals) and James (bass & vocals) helped form the iconic Peccadilloes in 2003, and, after releasing four full length CDs, playing countless sold-out shows and building a huge, loyal following they wanted to try something new. In 2011, the three formed The Gashers and in the process gave a fresh new voice to modern punk by saluting it's storied past.
There is no question about The Peccadilloes reputation. Fans still wear their shirts, play their music on the Double Down Saloon juke box, and speak of them with a reverence reserved for bands like The Exploited and The Clash. Their live shows, always packed to capacity, are the stuff of legend. Anyone who knows anything about punk knows them. To quote one fan: “They are what fuck you sounds like.” The most underrated punk band in the United States? That's probably true. The Gashers intend to fulfill the promise made by the Peccadilloes and will appeal to everyone from old punks to skate kids and everything in between. They are a visceral, angry, honest, ball of knives. They spit in the eye of conventional music, defy category and redefine DIY, all while holding true to their old school roots. They are REAL.
To celebrate the release of Law Is Not Order, The Gashers will perform the album, in it’s entirety, at a special CD Release show on Friday, August 10th, at the Double Down Saloon in Las Vegas. SquidHat Records recording artists, The Dirty Panties, will open.
